Polyphosphoric acid is a colorless transparent viscous liquid, corrosive, is a secondary inorganic acid corrosion items. Polyphosphoric acid is proton acid, can dissolve a variety of low molecular and high molecular organic compounds. In organic synthesis, it is used as a water loss agent, a cyclizing agent, an acylating agent, and is a catalyst or solvent for reactions such as condensation, cyclization, rearrangement, and substitution.
